Palisades Fire Charity Artwork

Project brief was to comprise a single image including symbols associated with the Palisades fire as it concerned Pacific Palisades, Malibu & Topanga Canyon California. Digital freehanded art, 16” x 20.” Living in the canyon this was an extremely impactful, traumatic & humbling event with tragedy that will affect my hometown & neighboring cities for years to come. This is a homage to the light & beacons of hope that remain, with a color palette that is directly inspired by Malibu. Blues, turquoise & bright yellow paired with red & a triad of analogous tones that give way to the sun rising, setting & patriotism contrasted by the greys in the piece used to balance the brightness in the work mirrored by the occasion. R.I.P. to Arthur Simoneau, a Topanga resident killed in the fires who was a lifelong hang-gliding pilot & Randy Miod, an avid & accomplished surfer both remembered in this artwork. Thank you to the helicopter teams & firefighters who dedicated their service & risked their lives as well as the Topanga Heat Hawks who assisted & provided crucial aid throughout the entirety of the emergency. All of these entities are represented in the piece. 100% of proceeds made from master canvas Giclee print & others produced will go to organizations aiding the Pacific Palisades, firefighters & displaced artists.
